Ottré is, together with 22 other hamlets a part of Vielsalm. This municipality covers a large part of the “Hoge veenen”, with its wide forests and endless pastures.

This region is located mainly above 490.50 yards, with as its highest peak the “Baraque de freiture” at 681.25 yards. This high lain area is widely known by winter sports fanatics.

Devotees of nature are treated to the variety of different scenery’s covered with deep valleys, dark forests and sparkling rivers.

It’s the ideal base to start with touristic trips. In the north you’ll find the province “liege” with the coo waterfall, the racetrack of Spa-francorchamps and the caves of Remouchamps. The border with luxembourgh is only 12.50 mi from Vielsalm.

Hidden within the small village centers of Vielsalm you’ll find a rich patrimonial of castles, churches, and chapels. All these beautiful examples of local culture, devotion, and architecture can be discovered on foot, trough the marked walk- and bicycle routes.
